Velvet Eidson

Velvet Eidson is a vocal and songwriting coach based in Jacksonville, Florida. She teaches a variety of genres, with a special focus in country, contemporary commercial, and musical theater. She is passionate about helping her students strengthen their voice technique and discover their unique identity as a performer.

Velvet grew up singing in her family’s touring gospel group Velvet and the Evangels. She went on to study voice at Jacksonville University before moving to Nashville to pursue a career as a professional singer. As a member of the 3-person vocal group Dave & Sugar, she would tour & record all over the US before eventually returning home to Florida and opening her voice coaching studio.

She has developed a broad set of experiences including musical theater performance, singing with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, competing in the Miss America Organization as Miss Nashville, and composing/recording original music for film soundtracks.

Velvet earned her Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy with Distinction from the Voice Study Centre. As a self-proclaimed “voice nerd”, she loves to study the science behind the art she teaches by learning new skills each year to further her professional development.
