Emily Bender

Emily Bender is a community-based voice teacher, singer and choral director in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition to her busy private studio where she works with people of all ages, she sings with the award-winning Solstice female vocal ensemble, serves as soprano section leader and soloist at First Congregational Church of Palo Alto, and directs local children’s and youth choirs.

Emily has a BA with honors in French from Oberlin College, an MA in Interdisciplinary Art from San Francisco State University, and a certificate in Kodály Music Education from Holy Names University.

She has completed the CCM Institute at Shenandoah University, and continually seeks to broaden her knowledge of voice and music. She is pursuing an MA in Voice Pedagogy with a dual focus on adolescent treble voices and social justice in the voice studio from the Voice Study Centre/University of Wales Trinity Saint David in the UK.
