MA Voice Pedagogy student Emily Lowe to present at upcoming Gendering Music Matter conference

Wednesday 10th January 2024

It gives us great pleasure to announce that current MA Voice Pedagogy student Emily Lowe has been chosen to present her MA research at the upcoming ‘Gendering Music Matter. Power, Affects, and Infrastructures of Music Industries’ conference, which will be hosted by the music anthropological research project Gendering Music Matter (GEMMA) in Copenhagen, Denmark from 14th-15th March 2024.

Emily’s research study draws on her 11 years of experience as a voice teacher to focus on creating a gender-inclusive framework for adolescents, providing a safe space for them to explore their voices and be empowered by their perspectives being placed at the centre of their voice lessons. Her research is driven by a commitment to contribute to the emerging field of trans*+ and gender-expansive voices, aiming to blend practical expertise with academic insights.

Congratulations, Emily!
